When a family member, friend, pen pal, or any registered user sends a message through their online dashboard, that message is delivered instantly to the incarcerated individual’s Stay Connected Plus account. The next time they call into the Stay Connected Plus IVR system from any available phone, they will be notified immediately that they have a new message waiting. From there, they simply use voice commands to listen to their messages, reply, and manage their inbox — just like checking and responding to messages on any communication platform, but done entirely through voice over the phone.
When the incarcerated individual replies through the IVR system, that reply is delivered instantly back to the sender’s online dashboard, where they can read it, listen to it, and respond again. The conversation flows back and forth in real time, creating a true two-way communication experience between the phone-based IVR system and the online platform.
