- ABOUT STAY CONNECTED PLUS, LLC
Stay Connected Plus, LLC ("Stay Connected Plus," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Stay Connected Plus communication platform, accessible at www.myscplus.com and through our IVR telephone system. Our platform provides communication services connecting incarcerated individuals with their family members, friends, and other users.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of our platform, including incarcerated individuals, family members, friends, pen pals, and any other registered users, regardless of how they access the platform (online dashboard, mobile, or IVR telephone system).
- INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information in the following ways:
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
Account Registration
- Full legal name
- Email address
- Password (encrypted)
- Display name or username
- Date of birth
- Mailing address
- Government-issued identification (where applicable for identity verification)
Incarcerated Individual Information
- Facility name and address
- Inmate identification number
- Housing unit or location information
- Four-digit account PIN
Communications and Content
- Text messages sent and received through the platform
- Voice messages and call recordings
- Photos, artwork, writings, and other content posted to your profile
- Contact lists and contact information saved within the system
Payment and Financial Information
- Credit card and debit card numbers
- Billing address
- Payment transaction history
- Wallet balance and transaction records
- Subscription and auto-renew settings
Note: Payment card data is processed by our third-party payment processor. We store transaction records and may retain the last four digits of your card number, expiration date, and billing information for account management purposes.

The categories of personal information we may sell or share include: identifiers (name, email, phone number, IP address); demographic information; usage and behavioral data; commercial information (transaction history, subscription data); and communications metadata.

- Communication and SMS providers
All service providers are contractually required to use your information only as directed by us and in accordance with this policy.
5.3 Correctional Facilities and Law Enforcement
Because our platform serves incarcerated individuals, we may share information with correctional facilities and law enforcement in the following circumstances:
- As required by facility communication policies and monitoring requirements
- In response to valid legal process including court orders, subpoenas, warrants, or other legal demands
- To investigate or prevent criminal activity or violations of facility rules
- To protect the safety of users, facility staff, or the public
- As otherwise required by applicable law
ALL COMMUNICATIONS ON THIS PLATFORM MAY BE SUBJECT TO MONITORING AND RECORDING BY CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES AND LAW ENFORCEMENT. BY USING THIS PLATFORM, YOU CONSENT TO SUCH MONITORING.
5.4 Business Transfers
If Stay Connected Plus, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or other business transaction, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice of any such transfer where required by law.
5.5 With Your Consent
We may share your personal information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.
- COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
6.1 Types of Cookies We Use
- Essential cookies: Required for the platform to function, including login sessions and security features.

6.2 Third-Party Tracking

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through browser settings. However, disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our platform. We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals, though you may have additional rights under applicable state law.
6.4 Pixel Tags and Web Beacons
We may use pixel tags, web beacons, and similar technologies in our emails and on our platform to track engagement, verify email delivery, and collect usage data.
- SMS AND TELEPHONE COMMUNICATIONS
7.1 SMS Consent and Use
By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to SMS communications, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Stay Connected Plus, LLC, including transactional messages, account notifications, and marketing messages.

- You may opt out of marketing SMS at any time by replying STOP
- Opting out of marketing SMS does not affect transactional messages required for platform operation
7.2 Call Recording and Monitoring
Calls made through the Stay Connected Plus IVR system may be recorded and monitored. By using the IVR system, all parties to the call consent to recording and monitoring. Call recordings may be shared with correctional facilities, law enforcement, and other authorized parties as described in Section 5.3.
7.3 TCPA Compliance
Our SMS communications are subject to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). We will obtain required consents before sending marketing text messages and will honor all opt-out requests promptly.
- DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specific retention periods include:
- Account information: retained for the duration of your account plus up to five years following account closure
- Communications (messages and call records): retained for up to seven years or as required by applicable law or correctional facility agreements
- Payment records: retained for up to seven years as required by financial regulations
- Profile content (photos, posts): retained until deleted by the user or account closure
- Log and usage data: retained for up to three years
Following the applicable retention period, we will delete or anonymize your information, except where longer retention is required by law.
- SECURITY
We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS
- Encryption of sensitive data at rest
- Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel
- Regular security assessments
- Secure payment processing through PCI-compliant third-party processors
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
- CHILDREN'S PRIVACY AND AGE RESTRICTIONS
Stay Connected Plus is strictly intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
If you are under 18 years of age, you are not permitted to create an account or use this platform. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a user under the age of 18, we will take prompt steps to delete that information and close the associated account.

- USERS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES
Stay Connected Plus is operated from the United States. If you are accessing our platform from outside the United States, please be aware that your personal information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
By using our platform, you consent to the transfer of your personal information to the United States and to our use and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with specific data protection laws should be aware that we may not be able to guarantee the same level of data protection as required in your home jurisdiction. 12.3 Deletion You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions including where retention is required by law, for fraud prevention, or to complete transactions you have requested.
12.4 Opt-Out of Marketing You may opt out of receiving marketing communications from us at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any marketing email or by contacting us at privacy@myscplus.com. Note that opting out of marketing does not affect transactional communications.
12.5 Opt-Out of Sale (Where Required by Law) Residents of certain states, including California, have the right to opt out of the sale of their personal information. See the California Privacy Notice below for details.
- CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other business reasons. This California Privacy Notice supplements the Stay Connected Plus, LLC Privacy Policy and applies solely to California residents. It is provided pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA), and other applicable California privacy laws.

CA-5.6 Right to Non-Discrimination We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your California privacy rights. We will not deny you services, charge you different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your rights under the CCPA/CPRA.
CA-6. HOW TO SUBMIT A CALIFORNIA PRIVACY REQUEST

You may designate an authorized agent to make a privacy rights request on your behalf. We will require written proof of the agent's authorization and may verify your identity directly with you.
CA-8. FINANCIAL INCENTIVES
We may offer financial incentives or price differences in connection with the collection, sale, or deletion of your personal information. Where we do so, we will provide notice of such programs and obtain your opt-in consent as required by law.
CA-9. "SHINE THE LIGHT" DISCLOSURE
